Another Children’s Fair is in the books and once again, Plumas County showed up.

We’re gathering photos from the day and will share highlights here soon.

For decades, this event has created a space for kids, families, neighbors, organizations, and local services to come together around what matters most: healthy families, community connection, and supporting one another.

Adding wildfire preparedness into that space matters because preparedness starts at home, grows through community, and works best when families feel connected, informed, and supported before emergencies happen.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered, hosted a booth, brought activities, talked preparedness, handed out snacks, hauled equipment, wrangled supplies, or simply came out to spend the day with your community.

There were crafts, tree planting, bubbles, activity books, go-bags, fire trucks, the infamous Wilburn dirt pile, sticky hands, and approximately 200 + kids absolutely living their best lives.

From the doorstep to the forest, wildfire preparedness starts with community.

The fair may be over, but Wildfire Preparedness Month is still rolling through May, so keep the momentum going:
• Clean up Zone Zero
• Update your go-bag
• Make a family evacuation plan
• Talk with neighbors
• Stay wildfire aware
