Dale Ready

Dale Ready joined the Plumas County Fire Safe Council (PCFSC) in July 2025 in the newly created role of Plumas County Fire Chiefs Association (PCFCA) Support Specialist. A Plumas County resident since 2003, Dale has long been committed to community service, collaboration, and stewardship, inspired by the region's natural beauty and strong sense of connection.
Before joining the Fire Safe Council, Dale owned and operated a local business from 2003 to 2021 and served in numerous leadership and volunteer roles throughout the community. He was President of the Feather River College Student Environmental Association from 2004 to 2006, earning a Student Sustainability Award in 2005, and served on the Plumas Arts Board of Directors from 2015 to 2022. Dale joined the Quincy Fire Department in 2014 and currently serves as Assistant Chief, a position he has held since 2023. He was named Quincy Firefighter of the Year in 2022, became an EMT in 2024, and continues to volunteer with the Quincy Food Bank – CAN.
Over the past year, Dale has worked to strengthen collaboration among Plumas County fire agencies while supporting a wide range of regional initiatives. Representing the PCFCA, he has participated in more than 50 collaborative meetings and working groups, including LAFCO, the Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission, Firewise, Public Information Officer, Behavioral Health, Peer Support, TREX, Local Hazard Mitigation Plan, Plumas Underburn Cooperative, and VOAD meetings. He facilitated the development and adoption of the PCFCA 2026–2028 Strategic Plan, coordinated regional training opportunities, supported grant outreach and assistance for 14 Plumas County fire departments, and authored numerous letters of support for local and regional projects.
As his responsibilities have grown, so has his role within the Fire Safe Council. In July 2026, his position transitioned from PCFCA Support Specialist to Community Risk Reduction Coordinator, reflecting an expanded focus on wildfire risk reduction programs, including Fire Safe Home Visits, Defensible Space Assistance, and Home Hardening initiatives.
Dale remains grateful for the opportunity to serve Plumas County and is dedicated to strengthening community resilience, supporting fire service partners, and helping residents reduce wildfire risk through collaboration, education, and proactive mitigation efforts.
