Amber Hughes

Amber's passion for her community led her to join the Plumas County Fire Safe Council in October 2023 as the Rural Outreach Coordinator & Regional Firewise Coordinator. Amber is deeply rooted in Plumas County, with her family having lived here for five generations. This history has instilled in her a strong bond with the community and a deep dedication to its welfare.
Amber is a multifaceted individual who brings strong communication, education, and relationship-building skills to her outreach work, developed through years of engaging directly with the public in community-centered environments. She is especially adept at connecting people to resources, fostering trust, and translating complex information into clear, accessible messages that support collective action.
When she's not hustling or helping out, Amber enjoys being outdoors observing nature. She is a proud bird-launcher of a 19-year-old and loves making epic memories with her friends and family.
